COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Former Maryland midfielder Jake Rozhansky has signed with Israeli Premier League team Maccabi Netanya F.C., the club announced Thursday afternoon.

Rozhansky, who served as a captain for the Terps this season, started all 19 matches and led the team with nine assists, while also bagging four goals. He was named to the All-Big Ten First Team and was named a semifinalist for the Senior CLASS Award. Rozhansky finished his Maryland career with 17 assists and seven goals.

"I am very excited to being my professional soccer career with Maccabi Netanya." Rozhansky said. "It will be a change for me to live on my own and play, but I'm ready to pursue this dream. I'd like to thank Coach Cirovski and everybody at Maryland for preparing me for this next step. Maryland taught me how to be a pro before I became a pro. It made me do the right things on and off the field and the relationships I made there will help me throughout my career."

Rozhansky, who was a USA Youth National Team fixture, starred for the United States team at the 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel, where he was the winner of the Golden Boot. He concluded the tournament with six goals, including a hat trick in the final. The Germantown, Md., native played his first two seasons at Virginia.

"I am extremely happy to see Jake realize his boyhood dream of signing his first professional contract with an emerging top Israeli League club in Maccabi Netanya FC," Maryland head coach Sasho Cirovski said. "He has been a great contributor to our program for the past two seasons and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to coach him. He was an excellent student in the classroom and a great player on the field. Of course, I will miss not seeing him on an MLS team, but this is a path he had been keen on after an immensely successful Maccabi Games this summer with the USA team. I wish Jake the very best and look forward to seeing his debut soon."
