COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland women’s soccer freshman Malikae Dayes participated in Canada Soccer’s final U-20 women’s camp of 2017 in Burnaby, B.C., which ran from December 10-17.

The camp served as a key piece of preparation for the upcoming CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship in Trindad and Tobago in January. That tournament serves as the qualification tournament for the FIFA 2018 U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.

Dayes performed well for the Terps in her four matches this fall before her season was limited by injuries. Her sister Mikayla, who was also featured in the Canada youth national team set up, is currently recovering from injury.

The Terps improved by four wins in Ray Leone’s second season, helped along by a top-25 recruiting class that featured the Dayes sisters.

Canada was drawn into Group A for the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championships which also includes Costa Rica, Haiti and hosts Trinidad & Tobago.
