MADISON, Wisc. -- Tenth-ranked heavyweight Youssif Hemida won his second consecutive match by fall as the Maryland wrestling team (3-3, 0-3 B1G) fell to No. 20 Wisconsin (3-0, 1-0 B1G), 32-6 on Thursday.

Hemida improved his season record to 9-0, and won his fifth match by fall this season.

"Wisconsin is a solid team that came out ready to battle tonight," head coach Kerry McCoy said. "We found some areas to work on, and saw some good things from guys like Peter Tedesco and Spencer Woods. It's also good to see Youssif end the night with another pin as he continues to improve. We're excited to come home and wrestle in front of our fans against another very talented team in Iowa on Sunday."

Maryland was unable to get things going against the Badgers, whose lineup featured four ranked wrestlers. Redshirt freshman Peter Tedesco wrestled up a weight class at 149 pounds and battled in a highly-competitive match against Wisconsin's Patrick Spray. Spencer Woods also lost by decision to No. 11 Ricky Robertson after losing by fall to the Badger wrestler at the Road Runner Open in November.

Hemida was able to close out the day with a pin (1:11) for Maryland, and will now look ahead to a top-10 battle with Iowa's Sam Stoll on Sunday.

The Terps' conference schedule will continue on Sunday when they host No. 7 Iowa on the XFINITY Center main floor. It is Star Wars Sunday, where fans can test their knowledge of the movie series to win tickets to the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It will also be Club Sports competition day, where University of Maryland club sports teams will compete for $300 worth of Under Armour gear. It is also Maryland's Pride Match, where a select member of the Pride will receive money toward textbooks for the spring semester.
