SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Maryland women's golf team wrapped up at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational Tuesday at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio.
As a team, the Terrapins finished eighth of 14 teams. They went 16 strokes over par with a score of 880 (296-287-297).
“The team had it going for 12 holes today and had jumped some teams in the leaderboard, but didn't manage to finish it off and dropped some shots towards the end,” head coach Diana Cantu said. “Even though we didn't have the low round we wanted to, I am proud of how the team played this semester. Every player showed they can go low and contribute to our success.
We had a young team in the lineup the entire fall with three freshmen and I think they really stepped up and made an impact on our team day in and day out. This group of student-athletes can has a ton of talent and potential. If we continue to work hard on our games and continue to be motivated, I am confident that we will have a successful spring semester.”
