PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Alexandra Lucki and junior Emily Bracher both notched top-10 finishes to power Maryland to a fifth place overall finish at the Princeton Invitational Saturday. The Terps totaled 157 points for the finish at Princeton Cross Country course, as the squad wraps up regular season competition.
Lucki starred for the Terps finishing second in the field with a time of 21:13.7. The finish was four spots better than her sixth place overall 21:35.9 last year, as she raced for just the second time this year. Bracher took ninth for her second top-10 finish of the season, clocking in at 21:45.2 to finish as Maryland’s No. 2 runner.
Sophomore Brittany Lang was No. 3 for Maryland, finishing in 22:27.0 to place 32nd in the field. Freshman Christine Laurie wasn’t far behind, finishing in 22:30.7 to take 38th. Sophomore Paige Novak was the final scoring Terp for Maryland, finishing 76th in 23:20.3.
Senior Vickie Ajimoko (22:22.7) and freshman Molly Barrick (23:31.9) rounded out the pack for UMD at the event. Columbia captured the team title with 124 points, while Anne-Marie Comeau of Universite Laval took home the individual title in 21:12.1.
Maryland will return to competition on Sunday, October 29 at the Big Ten Championships in Bloomington Indiana.
