LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska scattered three goals in the match to secure a 3-0 victory over Maryland Thursday evening. Redshirt junior Rachel Egyed was outstanding for the Terps in goal, making several highlight-worthy saves in the game as UMD moves to 7-4-2 (1-4-1 B1G) on the season. Nebraska improves to (8-3-2, 2-1-2 B1G).

Egyed starred for the Terrapins in the game at Barbara Hibner Stadium, totaling five saves on the day including a one-on-one stop in the 10th minute. A Husker breakaway looked like a prime scoring opportunity, but the Clifton, N.J. native parried the shot high to keep the game scoreless

Egyed would follow things up with another impressive stop in the 27th minute, after Nebraska earned a penalty kick. Nebraska’s Haley Hanson went left, but Egyed dove and made the save to push away another opportunity from the hosts.

Nebraska finally found the net in the 38th minute, as Theresa Pujado tallied her first of the season to put her side ahead 1-0 at the break. Hanson would net two goals in the second to seal the deal as the Huskers picked up their fourth home win of the year.

Maryland will be back in action Sunday at Iowa for a game at 2:00 pm.
