Farina, a two-time Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner, finished the season with a 76.33 average round score as a sophomore. The Siracusa, Italy, native, placed 29th at the Central District Invitational (75-79-74) and notched two top-50 finishes at the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate (79-71-78) and Brickyard Collegiate (74-81-77) last spring.
Scandroglio, a native of Milan, Italy, had a breakout spring for the Terps. She concluded her sophomore campaign with a 75.39 average round score and tied for 18th at the SunTrust Gator Women’s Invite (77-68-74, tied for 15th at the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate (74-70-77)…put together third consecutive top-25 finish, tying for 24th, at the Brickyard Collegiate (75-76-75). She also led the Terps, tying for 35th, at the Big Ten Championship (83-74-73).
Tian had a spectacular freshman season at Maryland. The rookie from Hohhot Nei Mongol, China, wrapped up her freshman season ranked seventh all-time at Maryland in season scoring average (74.52) and tied for seventh at the Central District Invitational (70-77-74), tied for 17th at the Brickyard Collegiate (77-74-72 and led Maryland (tied for 35th) at the Big Ten Championship (74-81-75).
Maryland begins the 2017-18 season at the Ocean Course Invitational at Kiawah Island, S.C., on Sept. 4-5.
