GUILDFORD, England - Numerous Terps competed in the final day of the FIL World Cup with multiple Terrapins bringing home medals for their national teams.
Represented by Alex Aust '13, Taylor Cummings '16, Megan Douty '15, Brooke Griffin '15, Alice Mercer '16, Katie Schwarzmann '13 and assistant coach Jess Wilk '90, the United States went undefeated and won gold, 10-5, over Canada. Dana Dobbie '07 led the Canadians to the silver medal.
Megan Whittle '18 scored the game-winner as host England beat Australia, 10-9, in double overtime for England's first medal since 2005. Laura Merrifield and Camilla Hayes also competed for the host nation.
Cummings (USA), Dobbie (Canada), Douty (USA) and Merrifield (England) were named to the 12-player All-World Team.
A total of 17 Terps competed in the 2017 FIL World Cup in Guildford, England, which featured 25 nations.
