COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The 2017 National Champion Maryland men’s lacrosse team will be honored July 20th at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Md., by the Chesapeake Bayhawks and The Touchdown Club of Annapolis.

“Maryland Men’s Lacrosse Night” will be held in conjunction with the Bayhawks’ game against the Florida Launch at 7:30 pm. The event is hosted by Kelly & Associates Insurance Group Inc.

The Touchdown Club of Annapolis will present head coach John Tillman and team captains with the prestigious Henry Ciccarone Jr. Memorial Collegiate Team of the Year Award during a pre-game party. The Bayhawks will then honor the entire Maryland men's lacrosse team in a halftime ceremony with all coaches and players being invited onto the field to be recognized by the crowd.

The Terps will be fortunate to have all four 2017 team captains in attendance, as Isaiah Davis-Allen, Colin Heacock and Nick Manis are members of the Bayhawks, while Tim Muller plays for the Launch.

"The Bayhawks are proud to recognize the 2017 Maryland men's lacrosse team for its awesome accomplishment of capturing the Division I National Championship," said Bayhawks President Mark Burdett, who played at Maryland from 1977-80.

The Touchdown Club of Annapolis has extended a special invitation to members of the 1975 National Championship team to attend its annual Lacrosse Cookout and Awards Ceremony, which will be held prior to the July 20th game between the Bayhawks and Launch.

Mission BBQ will cater the cookout, which begins at 5:30 p.m. under the tent in the south end zone nearest to the Blue Angel located just outside the gates. In a perfect twist of fate, all four Maryland captains will be in attendance that night as attackman Colin Heacock along with defensive midfielders Isaiah Davis-Allen and Nick Manis are all members of the Bayhawks while defenseman Tim Muller plays for the Launch.

"Everyone associated with Maryland men's lacrosse is very proud to accept the Henry Ciccarone Jr. Collegiate Team of the Year Award. It is a tremendous honor and a fitting cap to a very memorable year," said Tillman, who boasts a 96-29 record and has led the Terps to five championship game appearances in seven seasons as head coach.

The Touchdown Club of Annapolis is inviting all former Maryland men's lacrosse players to the Lacrosse Cookout and Awards Ceremony so they can celebrate the championship with this year's team. Tickets for the event, which will be sold at the gate, cost $20 and include the cookout and Bayhawks-Launch game. In addition to pit beef,  baked beans and other sides provided by Mission BBQ, there will be pizza's provided by Papa John's, beer courtesy of Katcef Brothers and other refreshments.

All Maryland men's lacrosse lettermen interested in attending the event should RSVP by email to bwagner111@gmail.com with the number of people in their party.

Kelly & Associates Insurance Group Inc., a Baltimore-based company is serving as sponsor of the July 20th game between the Bayhawks (4-5) and Launch (5-5), which has important playoff implications for both squads. Last May, Kelly & Associates celebrated its 40th anniversary as a family business providing integrated total benefits, payroll and workforce management solutions for employers of all sizes.
