The only rookies to start the entire season for the Terps, Doherty and Hartshorn played key roles in Maryland's NCAA Championship run and perfect 23-0 season.
Doherty posted 18 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers on Maryland's defense, which allowed just 9.43 goals per game this season.
The 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Hartshorn ranked second on the team with 58 goals. She immediately stepped in as Maryland's draw control specialist, and grabbed 112 draws, which ranks fifth for a single season. The Allentown, N.J., native was also named an Inside Lacrosse Media Honorable Mention All-American and IWLCA Second Team All-Region.
Maryland's 2017 freshman class was ranked No. 1 by Inside Lacrosse entering the season.
