COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its annual Lift For Life to support the rare disease community on Friday, June 23rd.
Lift For Life, which is a private event, is the signature fundraising event for the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters led by college football student-athletes.
Each chapter embraces the mission of Uplifting Athletes using college football as a platform to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.
Fans and supporters can make a donation to any one of the 10 Terrapin position groups by visiting their Lift For Life fundraising site here. Simply find your favorite 2017 Maryland Terrapin player and support that team.
The proceeds from the Maryland Chapter annual Lift For Life support Uplifting Athletes and its commitment to life skills development, patient focused programs and rare disease research.
Today, the challenges faced by the rare disease community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. The Maryland Terrapins take pride in the opportunity to shine a spotlight on rare diseases.
Maryland started tackling rare diseases in 2009 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of former Terrapins quarterback Boomer Esiason. His son, Gunner, lives with the rare disease cystic fibrosis and his battle serves as the inspiration for Maryland to support the rare disease community.
Please support the Maryland Chapter and help the Terrapins reach their $12,000 team Lift For Life goal.
