COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Three members of the Maryland men's golf team were named to the PING All-Region Northeast Team this week. Freshman Bennett Buch and sophomore Timothy Colanta earned the honor for the first time and junior David Kocher was honored for the third straight year.
Buch played in all six tournaments this spring and one in the fall. He consistently finished in the top 50 of each. In his strongest outing of the year, he finished tied for 17th in the East Carolina Intercollegiate April 3-4.
Colanta played in all 11 tournaments over the season, finishing in the top 10 twice and the top 20 five times. In his best outing of the year, he tied for seventh in the Janney VCU Shootout last fall when he went seven-under par to lead the Terrapins.
Kocher played in all 11 tournament as well, finishing in the top 10 three times and the top 20 seven times. He tied for fourth at the Big Ten Tournament in April, earning All-Big Ten Tournament honors and earning his third straight NCAA Regionals bid. In the final round of the Big Ten Tournament, he shot a 65 to earn the lowest score of the day.
