COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team (15-0, 4-0 Big Ten) travels to No. 5 Penn State (14-1, 4-0) for a nationally televised game Thursday at 7 p.m.

• The Terps-Nittany Lions game will be aired on the Big Ten Network.

• With a win Thursday, Maryland can clinch at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title.


• Senior attacker Caroline Wannen (2G, 3A) and junior attacker Megan Whittle (4G, 1A) each had five points as the Terps beat Ohio State, 18-9, in the team's last regular season game at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

• Freshman midfielder Kali Hartshorn scored four goals while sophomore midfielder Jen Giles had one goal and three assists.

• Senior midfielder Zoe Stukenberg impacted every aspect of the game as she had two goals, four ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers.

• After leading the Terps to two wins last week, midfielders Zoe Stukenberg and Kali Hartshorn were named Big Ten Defensive Player and Freshman of the Week Tuesday.

• Stukenberg caused five turnovers and had nine ground balls last week. The Ellicott City, Md., native is the first field player to earn Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors this season and is the first player in 2017 to earn both offensive and defensive accolades.

• Hartshorn earned her fourth freshman of the week honors after posting nine goals and 10 points last week.

• Penn State is coming off a 14-13 win over Northwestern last Thursday. The Nittany Lions are on a seven-game win streak.

• Madison Carter leads the team and ranks seventh nationally with 52 goals and is 11th nationally with 5.73 draw controls per game. Steph Lazo ranks 11th nationally with 33 assists.

• Cat Rainone has started all but one game in cage and holds a 9.33 goals-against average and a .480 save percentage.

• Last season, the Terps overcame a second-half deficit to beat the Lions 10-9 and clinch the Big Ten regular season title.

• Penn State head coach Missy Doherty is a 1997 graduate of Maryland.

• Junior Megan Whittle currently has 193 career goals, which ranks seventh in the Maryland record books. She can move into sixth with 199 goals to pass Brooke Griffin's 198.

• Senior Zoe Stukenberg has 156 career goals and can move past Betsy Elder for 10th in program history with three more scores. 

• Freshman Kali Hartshorn has 67 draw controls, which ranks 10th for a single season. With five more draws, she will move past Karri Ellen Johnson for eighth (Johnson posted 71 draws twice).
