Terps Finish at East Carolina Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Maryland men's golf team finished fourth in the East Carolina Intercollegiate this week at the Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, N.C.

The Terrapins earned a score of 900 (299-298-303) to finish fourth out of 11 teams.

"We had a chance to win the tournament," head coach Jason Rodenhaver said. "We were in the lead with a few holes to go and we didn't finish well. We've had a tough spring. In saying this, it was awesome for the men to get into contention. I'm proud of how they competed. They're disappointed but we'll bounce back and get one soon."

Junior David Kocher led the way for Maryland and tied for eighth in the standings. He earned a combined score of 224 (77-75-75), which was eight-over total.

Freshman Bennett Buch tied for 17th with his score of 227 (74-76-77), which was +11.

Freshman Peter Knade also finished in the top 25 with an overall score of 229 (78-75-75), which was +13. Sophomore Timothy Colanta went +14 with his score of 230 (73-79-78) and sophomore Justin Feldman finished with a 231 (75-72-84).

The Terrapins competed against West Virginia, Florida Gulf Coast, George Washington, High Point, Coastal Carolina, Western Kentucky, Loyola, Georgetown, Old Dominion and tournament host-East Carolina.

Brook Valley Country Club is a par-72 that covers 6,831 yards.
