GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Maryland women’s golf team finished sixth in the 2017 SunTrust Gator Women’s Invitational Sunday at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.

Ludovica Scandroglio led the Terps, tying for 17th in the individual standings with a 219 (77-68-74). Freshman Xiaolin Tian tied for 24th with a 221 (74-73-74).

Panitta Yusabai shaved four strokes off her second round score to post a 227 (73-79-75) and place 43rd overall.

Alexandra Papell (75-73-82) and Ludovica Farina (75-80-76) tied for 53rd and 59th, respectively.

“We did well the first two rounds and we had the opportunity to beat some good teams today,” head coach Diana Cantu said. “Today we put ourselves in a position to have a good result but we didn’t finish as strong as we should have after the rain delay.

Ludovica Scandroglio had her personal college low round of 68 and she did a great job coming back after a rough first round. The team is all in to finish the season strong.”

The Terps travel to the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Ga., March 27-28.
