storylines

• Maryland saw its six-game winning streak come to an end with a 67-65 loss to Nebraska its last time out. Freshman Kevin Huerter scored a career-high 26 points and added five rebounds, three assists and three steals in the loss. Melo Trimble notched his 12th double-figure scoring performance this season with 14 points.

Kevin Huerter became the sixth different player, and the first freshman, in Maryland history to hit at least seven 3-point shots in a game en route to a career-high 26-point performance against Nebraska on Jan. 1. The program’s all-time record holder is Mike Jones, who hit nine threes against Missouri-Kansas City in 2006. Additionally, Huerter joined Iowa freshman Jordan Bohannon -- who made seven three-point field goals against Notre Dame earlier this year -- as the lone freshman duo to accomplish this feat in the Big Ten this season.

• With two made free throws versus Nebraska last time out, Melo Trimble now has 441 career made free throws, passing Terrapin legend Greivis Vasquez for fourth all-time. Maryland is 30-4 when Trimble gets to the line at least seven times.

• Since January 2015, Maryland is 14-1 in games following a loss. The Terps bounced back from its lone loss this season against Pittsburgh with a 71-70 victory over Oklahoma State at XFINITY Center on Dec. 3. Maryland had four players in double-figures against the Cowboys, led 13 points from Melo Trimble. Since joining the Big Ten Conference, Maryland has lost only two consecutive games in conference play, falling to Wisconsin at home on Feb. 13, 2016 and at Minnesota on Feb. 18.

• Maryland is 5-4 against Michigan all-time. Last season, the Terps fell 70-67 in Ann Arbor on Jan. 12 before topping the Wolverines 86-82 on Feb. 21 at XFINITY to snap a two-game losing skid.
