COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior Alexandra Lucki was named All-Mid-Atlantic Region by the USTFCCCA after placing inside the top-25 at the regional championship this past weekend. The honor caps off a highly successful junior season for the Ontario, Canada native, where she helped lead the Terps to a ninth place finish at the regional meet on November 11.
Lucki’s 18th place finish at regionals was the best overall finish by a Terp since the 2011 season, when Julie Fricke took 13th to lead Maryland. Her mark of 21:07 was over a minute faster than her time at the event last season (22:08), as she also improved 27 places from her 2015 finish.
Lucki was Maryland’s No. 1 runner on three different occasions this season, which also included a sixth place finish at the Princeton Invite and a 31st overall finish at the Big Ten Championships. Lucki’s finish at the B1Gs was the best-ever for a Terp at the conference championship meet.
