NEW YORK -- Seniors Alexandra Stanova and Kristina Hovsepyan completed play at the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships with a win in their final match.

The duo, who represented the Atlantic Region, participated in three matches at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.

On Thursday, Stanova and Hovsepyan opened with a match against Ellyse Hamlin and Samantha Harris of Duke University. After dropping the first set 6-0, the two lost a hard-fought second set by a score of 6-4.

Dropping the match moved them into the consolation bracket, where they faced Vivienne Kulicke and Milou Pietersz of UTEP. The Terps lost the first set 6-1 before battling back to take the second by a score of 7-6. In the third and final set the duo fell 10-7 in a 10-point tiebreaker.

On Friday afternoon Maryland played its final match of the weekend against Lesedi Jacobs and Justina Mikulskyte of Kentucky. The Terps finished play with a win, taking the match by a score of 6-3, 6-2.

Stanova and Hovsepyan will now look ahead to the Terps' spring season, while the remainder of the team will finish the fall season this weekend at the Kitty Harrison Invitational.
