Hi Terp Nation!
It is tourney time here in Terrapin Country as our top-seeded men’s and women’s lacrosse teams are playing for championships at the Big Ten Tournament this weekend.
The men’s team will battle Rutgers for the Big Ten tournament crown on Saturday down the road on the campus of Johns Hopkins while the women will look to win their second straight title at Northwestern.
A huge congrats to Cathy Reese on her capturing her 200th win when the Terps came from behind to top Penn State to win the regular season crown last week. Cathy has a ring for every finger, winning a total of 10 national championships - including four as a player, three as an assistant and another three as a head coach of our women’s lacrosse program. The Terps are seeking a third-straight national title this season.
John Tillman has the men’s squad playing its best heading into the postseason. A program and Big Ten Conference record seven members were named to the 2016 Men’s Lacrosse All-Big Ten Teams, including a league-high three players on the first team: senior goalie Kyle Bernlohr, senior midfielder Bryan Cole and junior short stick defensive midfielder Isaiah Davis-Allen.
Baseball will play host to Illinois in a doubleheader on Saturday after weather postponed action on Friday night. Track will also host its annual Kehoe Twilight Meet on Friday night, beginning at 5 p.m.
Hope you are enjoying the spring and have a wonderful weekend!
