In her lone season at American, Balogun oversaw senior goalkeeper Charlene Belanger, who saw improvements in goals against average, shutouts and save percentage from the previous year. One of the most decorated goalkeepers in Maryland history, Balogun helped the Terps reach the Sweet 16 in 2009 and 2011. She was a 2010 All-ACC Academic Team and All-Tournament selection. As a freshman in 2007, Balogun was named a SoccerBuzz Freshman All-American and was selected to the ACC All-Freshman team. She was also a captain during her time in College Park.

As a prep, Balogun was one of the top goalkeeping recruits in the country out of Roosevelt High School, helping lead the Raiders to a 4A class state championship. She was involved in the US National Team as a 2007 U-20 National Camp invitee and U-14 and U-17 national team pool member. She was a two-time NSCAA/Adidas Youth All-American and 2006 high school All-American.
