Hello Terp Nation!
We here at Maryland Athletics hope you had a wonderful summer full of good times with family and friends.
It’s officially game time around College Park with many of our teams already one weekend into their young seasons.
We started off much like we left off in the spring, going a combined 10-1-1 in our first action of the season. Volleyball went 4-0 to win the Maryland Invite, men’s soccer took down St. John’s and tied No. 4 Notre Dame to claim the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic title in Indiana, field hockey picked up two early wins and women’s soccer started the season 2-1 with a pair of wins over Kent State and Navy.
It’s a big weekend on campus with football officially kicking off its season against Richmond on Saturday at noon. You’ll want to be a part of the renewed Terp Alley where fans will have the opportunity to greet the team, band and cheerleaders approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to game time on West Field House Drive. Make sure you check out all our new gameday initiatives by clicking here.
And of course, don’t miss the electric atmosphere at Ludwig on Friday night when the Terps open up their home schedule against No. 1 UCLA on the Big Ten Network.
Volleyball will host Western Carolina and George Mason on Sunday after hitting the nation’s capital for a pair of matches at Howard Saturday. Good luck to our field hockey squad as they travel to the Keystone State for the Big Ten/ACC Cup and the women’s soccer team on their two-step in Texas this weekend. Cross country begins its season at the Mount St. Mary's Duals Friday.
Welcome back Terp fans! Let’s make another B1G splash this season.
