Four future Terps including one new addition to the 2014-15 freshman class competed at the Junior Olympic National Championships this past weekend.
Abigail Epperson had a tremendous performance with top-five finishes on bars and floor and top-ten finishes on vault and in the all-around. Her highest score of the day came from a 9.725 on vault for eighth place. She scored a 9.65 on bars for fourth and a 9.55 on floor also for fourth. A 9.125 on beam earned her 24th place and a 38.00 total gave Epperson an eighth-place all-around finish.
Evelyn Nee had top-25 finishes on vault, beam and in the all-around. She scored a 9.525 on vault for 22nd and a 9.175 on beam for 20th. All-around, Nee totaled a 37.25 for 22nd.
Rachel Gurnett, the Terps’ latest addition to the freshman class, placed 23rd on beam with a 9.425 and 26th on floor with a 9.325. Dominiquea Trotter placed 14th on vault with a score of 9.6.
The four future Terps will join Maryland for competition in the 2014-15 season. The coaching staff looks forward to an incredibly talented group and is proud of the excellent representation of Maryland gymnastics that the four girls showed at the National level.
