COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Sean Bosdosh of the Maryland men’s golf team received a bid to compete as an individual in the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships May 15-17. Bosdosh will play in the Raleigh region hosted by NC State at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club.
This is the second straight year Bosdosh, a 2013 All-ACC honoree, received an individual bid.
“We're so proud of Sean receiving a bid to the NCAA Regionals for the second straight year,” head coach Jason Rodenhaver said. “He has worked so incredibly hard for this program for his entire career. Ultimately, we want to be there as a team and Sean's hard work and success proves it can be done here at Maryland.”
In addition to the 81 teams that make up the regional fields, 45 individuals were chosen to play in the 54-hole events. The low five teams and low individual not on those teams in each region will advance to the NCAA Men's Golf National Championship May 23-28 in Hutchinson, Kan.
Bosdosh picked up three top-10 finishes on the year and finished in the top 20 in eight of 10 tournaments. He carries a team-low average of 72.30 through 10 events.
The individual field in Raleigh also includes J.T. Poston (West Carolina), Evan Russell (Hartford), Franco Castro (UNC-Charlotte), Brandon Matthews (Temple), Richard Fountain (Davidson), Eric Brady (East Carolina), Andrew Dorn (Coastal Carolina), Ben Wheeler (Coastal Carolina) and Zach Seabolt (Winthrop).
