Maryland closes the 2014 season this weekend as it hosts ACC newcomer Pitt for a three-game set at the Maryland Softball Stadium. The Terps will be celebrating the careers of seniors Candice Beards, Amanda McCann and Mandy Gardner this weekend. For live updates, log on to!/TerpsSoftball.

Scouting The Terps

2014 Maryland Terrapins: 8-35, 4-16 ACC
Roster Schedule  

• Maryland is looking to close out the season on a high note this weekend as it welcomes Pitt for a three-game series this weekend. The Terps have won four of their last six home games.

• The Terps are led offensively by junior Shannon Bustillos, who ranks first on the team in average (.333), RBIs (30), doubles (11), slugging (.564) and OBP (.423). Senior Candice Beards continues to play well in conference play, batting .397 with 17 RBIs and five doubles.

• Head coach Laura Watten is just one win away from the 600-win plateau for her career.

Roster Schedule Statistics

• Pitt has struggled down the homestretch of the season, losing 11 of its last 14 games. The Panthers took 2-of-3 from Georgia Tech last weekend, however, sweeping the Saturday doubleheader.

• Carly Thea is the lone Panther hitting above .300, batting .375 with 19 RBIs, seven home runs and 24 runs. Maggie Sevilla has a team-high 30 RBIs with nine home runs.

• Savannah King (4.23 ERA) and Alexa Larkin (4.88 ERA) have combined for all 41 starts for the Panthers this season. KIng has a team-high 97 strikeouts and 10 complete games.

• Maryland is 4-2 all-time against Pittsburgh dating back to 2004. The Terps have won three straight games in the series, last meeting in 2011.
