MESA, Az-The Maryland women's golf team put together an impressive second round performance and now are in ninth place after two rounds at the Clover Cup.
The Terps totaled a score of 300 in the second round, 10 shots better than their first round. They now have a total score of 610 after two rounds. Heidi Baek put together one of her best rounds of her career Saturday. She shot three-under par (69) in the second round and is now tied for seventh place. Juliet Vongphoumy continued her solid play in the second round. She shot four-over par (73) and is tied for 11th place heading into the final round Sunday.
Alexandria Papell shot three-over par (77) in the second round and is tied for 55th place in the tournament. Emily Gimpel and Jessica Gregory rounded out the group. Both are tied for 70th place after shooting an 81 and 82 in round two, respectively.
Colorado is still in first place with a two-round score of 589.
The Terps will look to improve their score again in the final round tomorrow.
