MESA, Ariz. - The Maryland women's golf team will head into the second round of the Clover Cup in 13th place after first round action Friday at Longbow Golf Club.
The Terps totaled a score of 310 after the opening round. Maryland was led by Juliet Vongphoumy who shot two-over par (74) on the day. She is currently tied for 11th place. Heidi Baek shot five-over par (77) in the first round, which has her tied for 33rd on the leaderboard.
Jessica Gregory is tied for 59th place after shooting a seven-over par (79) on the day. Emily Gimpel and Alexandria Papell rounded out the group. Gimpel shot eight-over par (80) and is in 62nd place. Papell is in 74th place after shooting nine-over par (81).
Colorado sits atop the leaderboard with a round one score of 292.
Maryland will look to climb the leaderboard in the second round tomorrow.
