Christie Pollner joined the University of Maryland as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in the 2013-14 academic year. Pollner oversees the strength and conditioning programs for softball, women’s tennis, and men’s golf. Prior to joining the staff at Maryland, Pollner volunteered at the University of Texas at Arlington with the men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, and track & field programs.
Prior to UTA, Pollner spent 2 years working through the ranks, from volunteer assistant to full time assistant strength and conditioning coach, at the University of South Carolina. During her time at USC, she worked with softball, women’s soccer, equestrian, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s swimming. She also spent some time volunteering with the women’s basketball and volleyball teams.
Prior to her arrival in South Carolina, Pollner interned at Dartmouth College where she worked with football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s squash, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving.
Pollner is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. Pollner earned her Master's degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania.
