Riding an seven-game winning streak, Maryland travels to Tallahassee to take on the second-ranked Florida State Seminoles to open its 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference slate. The Terps enter the weekend coming off a three-game sweep of Massachusetts. Game one is set for 6 p.m. Friday with the second game of the series scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The series concludes on Sunday with an 11 a.m. first pitch.

-Maryland enters its three-game series against the Seminoles winners of seven straight including a three-game sweep of Massachusetts last weekend. The Terps outscored the Minutemen 17-4 in the three games.

-On Saturday, right hander Jake Stinnett became the seventh Maryland pitcher all-time to throw a no-hitter and the first since Scott Swinson no-hit Delaware in Newark on May 13, 2008. It marked the first Maryland no-hitter at home since five Terrapin pitchers combined to no-hit Coppin State on March 28, 2007.

-For his effort, Stinnett earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors for a second consecutive week. The senior hurler also earned national Louisville Slugger Player of the Week honors from Collegiate Baseball News and NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week accolades.

-In the series finale against the Minutemen, four Terrapin pitchers combined for 17 strikeouts, which is tied for the most Ks in a single-game in the ACC this season. It also marked the most strikeouts in a single game for Maryland since the Terps’ fanned 19 against Army on Feb. 25, 2011.

-In game two of Saturday’s doubleheader, freshman right Mike Shawaryn improved to 3-0 this season after striking out a career-best seven in five innings of work. Shawaryn is one of only five pitchers in the ACC to start the season 3-0. Shawaryn has posted a 0.54 ERA in three outings, which is tied for the fourth lowest in the conference.

-Right fielder Anthony Papio has enjoyed a strong start to the season. Papio leads the Terps in batting (.429) and ranks second in the ACC, and his .553 on-base percentage also leads the team and ranks third in the conference.

-Maryland entered the week with the second-most doubles in the ACC (23). Shortstop Blake Schmit leads the charge. Schmit has totaled a team-high six on the season, which is tied for second in the ACC.

-Maryland totaled 94 stolen bases a season ago and averaged 1.71 per game. The Terps have picked up right where they left off in 2013 and have swiped an ACC-leading 24 this season. It’s 2.40 per game average is ninth nationally.
