PITTSBURGH, Pa - Welma Luus and Kristina Hovsepyan won in doubles and singles as the Maryland women’s tennis team notched its first ACC win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Pittsburgh Friday afternoon.
Nataliya Bredikhina and Olga Gaistruk also won for the Terps (5-3, 1-2 ACC), who secured the victory with the doubles point and three straight wins to begin singles play. The win snapped the Terps’ three-match losing streak.
"We fought hard and outlasted them at the end," head coach Daria Panova said. "Welma and Kristina played amazing in doubles and that set the tone for the match."
