Hey Terp fans!

The Terps have had another fun, (and snowy) week! After our awesome Monday victory against Pitt, George Washington, and Towson, we got right back into the gym to perfect our all of our routines. This week, we really focused on consistency on beam, hitting handstands on bars, and sticking every landing! Although there was a pretty heavy snowstorm, we didn’t let that dull our spark! After all, we had another meet this past Saturday against Bowling Green and Yale.

Our hard work and persistence definitely paid off as we sealed another victory in our own house, making the Gymterps undefeated at home thus far. Having back-to-back meets within the same week can be challenging, but the team didn’t once back down. There was also an added level of excitement since it was our annual Pink meet in honor of Breast Cancer! Paired with our beautiful pink ribbon leos, we competed in style, surprising the crowd with our brand new, bright pink Under Armor warm-up jackets! New gear is always awesome, but what makes it even more special is knowing that you’re competing for a great cause. The Gymterps took the lead after the first event with huge vaults, and continued to carry it throughout the remainder of the meet.  Although the judges were a tad stingy on scoring, we didn’t let that bother us and pushed ourselves even harder to get the win we deserved. We also didn’t count a single fall this meet!

Despite the adversity of the first few meets of the season, this team has done a great job creating the spark that has made us feel like ourselves again. As always, there is always room for improvement and we plan to work hard throughout the remainder of the season to be the best we can be. Come see us take on Chapel Hill in Comcast center this upcomingFriday at 7pm! Can’t wait to see you all there and as always GO TERPS!!

 Stay warm!
