Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - For the third-consecutive season, the University of Maryland women's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year.

This season marks the fifth time overall that the Terrapin program has earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award. This award celebrates the previous school year's accomplishment. This season's (2013-14) will be announced next November.

Overall, 875 college soccer programs earned the award. Of that total, 600 women's programs were recognized.

For a team to be considered for the NSCAA Team Academic Award, it must have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members.
