Freshman Lexie Brown added a career-high 20 points, while senior Alyssa Thomas added 18 points and nine rebounds, but the Terps fell behind late in the second half to get edged at No. 18 North Carolina State, 72-63.
Syracuse (16-5, 5-3) is coming off of a 78-73 win at No. 6 North Carolina Thursday. The Terrapins beat the Orange 77-62 on Jan. 16 in College Park. Thomas led the way with 19 points and 11 boards, and freshman Brionna Jones picked up her first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Terrapins are ranked No. 8 in the latest Associated Press and No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches polls.
