COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Two-time All-American Alyssa Thomas picked up her third career triple-double Monday night to lead No. 8 Maryland women’s basketball past Siena, 105-49 at Comcast Center.

Thomas, a candidate for National Player of the Year, finished with 12 points, 13 rebounds and tied her career-high 11 assists in 29 minutes on the floor. Redshirt junior Laurin Mincy led the Terrapins (9-1) in scoring with a season-high 21 points off four three-pointers. Lexie Brown, Brene Moseley, Katie Rutan and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough all scored in double-figures in Maryland’s seventh straight win.

“We really dictated and dominated this game for 40 minutes,” head coach Brenda Frese said. “It was fun to be able to watch. First of all, we were unselfish tonight with six players in double figures. I told them in the locker room to be a part of history to be able to watch [Alyssa Thomas] have a triple-double; that doesn’t happen very often in a career. Playing for each other was an area we really worked on this week in practice and having more players involved and I thought we did a tremendous job with that tonight.”

Maryland had its highest scoring output of the season, and reached the 100-point mark for the second time in four games.

Brianna Logan scored 12 for the Saints (4-4), who kept it close for most of the first half before wearing down after the break.

Siena had not allowed more than 70 points in a game this season before Monday, and entered yielding around 62 points per game, a mark Maryland reached with 14:20 remaining.

After jumping to an early 16-2 lead keyed by five points and an assist from Rutan, Maryland withstood the Saints' 10-2 run capped by Logan's 3-pointer from the left wing to cut it to 22-17.

Later, Clara Sole Anglada twice cut Sienna's deficit to nine with 3s, the latter making it 32-23. But Maryland responded with a 24-3 run that stretched into the second half.

Walker-Kimbrough's inside basket off Brown's feed made it 48-26 at halftime and Thomas' turnaround jumper made it 56-26.

Siena's Meghan Donahue finally answered with an inside basket on the Saints' next possession, ending a stretch of 9:47 without a field goal.

But Maryland kept pouring it on, stretching the lead beyond 40 on Moseley's two free throws to make it 73-32, and beyond 50 when Walker Kimbrough's jumper made it 89-38.

Maryland  shot 60 percent (39 for 65) from the field and 67 percent (10 of 15) from 3-point range. The Terps beat the Saints inside, 54-10, and won the rebounding battle 41-26. As a team, the Terps dished 30 assists on 39 made field goals.

Thomas' triple-double is the seventh overall in Maryland basketball history with Derrick Lewis notching two and Greivis Vasquez adding one as well. Marissa Coleman owns the first in women's history.

The Terrapins are ranked No. 8 in the latest Associated Press and USA Today National Coaches polls.

Next, Maryland will host Delaware State Saturday at 7 p.m. at Comcast Center. The Maryland men take on Florida Atlantic at 2 p.m.
