COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland gymnastics team announced the addition of Kesley Cofsky as the director of operations on Wednesday for the 2014 season.
Cofsky joins the Terrapin staff after a stellar four-year career at Maryland. The Walpole, Mass., native enjoyed a successful 2013 season where she set career highs on vault, bars, beam, floor and all-around, and was the recipient of the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Outstanding Senior Gymnast Award.
"We're excited to welcome Kesley to the staff,” said head coach Brett Nelligan. “As a gymnast, she was incredibly focused and hard-working and achieved so many incredible accolades as a GymTerp. It's great to be able to keep her around the program and her experience as a student-athlete will be invaluable to us.”
As a senior, Cofsky’s consistent performance in the all-around and on beam earned her All-EAGL first team honors in both areas. Additionally, she earned second team honors on vault and bars.
A four-time member of the EAGL All-Academic team, Cofsky was also named the EAGL Outstanding Rookie Gymnast as a freshman in 2010, an honor she shared with Pittsburgh’s Meaghan Biros. That season, Cofsky was named the league’s rookie of the week on three occasions.
In her four seasons in College Park, Cofsky competed in the NCAA Regionals four times and was named to the EAGL All-Tournament team all four years.
