|Position:||Faculty Athletics Representative|
Dr. Nicholas Hadley is in his third year as the University of Maryland's faculty athletics representative. In this role, he represents the University of Maryland and its faculty in the institution's relationships with the NCAA and Big Ten Conference.
He is also the current Chair of the University of Maryland's Athletic Council. He was vice-chair of the Athletic Council in 2010-2011 and was an elected member of the Council from 2007-2010.
Dr. Hadley is a professor in the physics department, which he joined in 1988. He served as Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education in the Department from 2007-2010. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Physical Society.
He has served on numerous federal advisory boards including the program advisory committees of the Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
Dr. Hadley received his bachelor's degree from Yale University and his master's and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
