    As a freshman (2013): Started at shortstop in 51 games and saw action in 54...also saw a game at catcher...hit .347 on the year with 51 hits, 52 runs scored, 59 RBI and 12 home runs...broke school record for RBI in season and led the ACC as well...batting average was No. 6 in the league, slugging percentage was No. 3 and on-base percentage was No. 5...went on a 10-game hit streak to end the regular season...had 13 multi-hit games...went 2-for-4 with three RBI vs. LIU Brooklyn (Feb. 17)...went 2-for-3 with two RBI off first career homer vs. Fairfield (March 2)....knocked in two RBI off a two-run homer vs. Notre Dame (March 3)...brought in a run off a triple vs. Iowa (March 9)...went 3-for-4 with five RBI off two homers vs. Ohio State (March 9)...went 2-for-4 with two RBI off a home run vs. Binghamton (March 10)...went 4-for-6 with four RBI off two triples and a double (March 12)...scored two runs off a double vs. Boston University (March 15)...scored a run off a triple vs. Temple (March 16)...went 2-for-4 vs. Valparaiso (March 16) the doubleheader of series vs. Virginia, went 3-for-6 with five RBI off a double and a home run (March 23)...went 4-for-7 with five RBI in doubleheader vs. Howard (March 27)...hit a two-run homer in Terps' 5-4 win over Florida State (March 30)...had a hit in each of the three games vs. the Seminoles and went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the series finale (March 31)...hit a three-run homer vs. Coppin State (April 3)...knocked in four RBI off two hits, including a two-run homer vs. Georgia Tech to take the series (April 14)...went 5-for-11 in three-game series vs. Boston College with a solo home run as well (April 20)...series jumpstarted her 10-game hit streak to end the regular season...had a hit in each of the three games vs. North Carolina with two RBI and a home run (April 27)...went 3-for-4 in first game at Virginia Tech (May 4)...hit a grand slam to tie the game in ACC Quarterfinals vs. Virginia Tech (May 9).

    Before Maryland: Played four years of varsity softball at Northern High School for Robert Earl won four straight state titles in her went undefeated in her junior (2011) and senior (2012) a senior, she hit .641 with 49 runs scored (2012)...named The Washington Post's All-Met First Team shortstop in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons and the All-Met Player of the Year in her senior season...named All-SMAC Player of the Year as a senior, First Team in sophomore, junior, seniors years and Second Team as a freshman...named to Calvert Independent and Calvert Recorder All-County First Team in sophomore, junior, senior years and Player of the Year as a sophomore...named a MaxPreps All-American and an ESPNHS All-American as a senior...also played for the Severna Park Hornets for Melissa won gold at the 2011 18U Nationals...she hit .478 with three home runs in that tournament...also played four years of varsity volleyball at captured three perfect regular seasons in her freshman (2008), sophomore (2009) and junior (2010) seasons...they won a state title in 2009, went to state semifinals in 2008 and were regional runners-up in 2010 and 2011...graduated with a GPA of 3.8.

    Personal: Lindsey Schmeiser...parents are Harold and Laurie Schmeiser...has one sister, Kaitlyn, who plays softball at Maryland, and a brother, Alec...nickname is LuLu...lists Bryce Harper as her sports hero...came to Maryland for softball, the veterinary program and it was close to home...also considered Virginia Tech, James Madison and Massachusetts...pre-vet major.
