International Experience: At the 2004 U.S. Field Hockey Summer League as a member of the Tidewater Tempest, scored the game-winning stroke vs. Southern Charm in the semifinals, snapping the Charm's five-year title run.

As a redshirt junior in 2004: Selected National Field Hockey Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic second team all-region ... stepped in to become a vital component of a veteran backfield which limited opponents to just 1.36 goals per game, including nine shutouts ... defense also limited three teams to zero shots and zero penalty corners ... became the primary stopper on the penalty corner squad midway through the season ... had a career-high three assists in the win at Princeton (Sept. 17) ... first-career goal was the game winner in the 4-3 win at No. 14 Delaware (Sept. 19), helping the Terps avoid overtime and extending the team's opening-season win streak to nine games ... notched the game-winner in the thrilling, regular-season finale 1-0 overtime victory over James Madison (Oct. 29).

As a junior in 2003: A redshirt season.

At Virginia in 2001-02: Started every game as a true freshman in 2001, earning Most Improved team honors ... saw action in 13 games, making seven starts ... tied for third on the team with two assists.

Before College: A four sport high school participant, having played field hockey, basketball, lacrosse and soccer ... saw action at midfield in high school, amassing 18 goals and 13 assists her senior year ... helped lead the team to the state championship title in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 ... an All-Met Player of the Year in 2000 by the Washington Post, as well as, the Montgomery Journal Player of the Year ... named team Most Valuable Player in 2000 ... an all-state selection in 1999 and 2000 ... NFHCA South Regional All-American ... received the U.S. Army Reserve Scholar-Athlete award.

Personal: Emily is the daughter of Carol and Bennett Beach ... father, Bennett, holds the second-longest streak for consecutive Boston Marathons run ... has two bothers, Carter (24) and Evan (18) ... a three-year section editor for her high school yearbook ... a public and community health major.
