Alma Mater:
Maryland '02

One of the most prolific offensive players in Atlantic Coast Conference field hockey history, two-time All-American Caroline Walter makes her way to the sidelines in 2002. The native of Reilingen, Germany, finished her four-year career with 158 points – a total that ranks her third all-time at Maryland and in the top 10 all-time in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Walter, who was as dynamic a scorer on the field as she is a student in the classroom, was a first team STX/NFHCA All-American in 1999 and a second team selection in 2000. In addition to being named the ACC’s Player of the Year as a sophomore in 1999, Walter was a three-time All-ACC selection (1999-2001), a four-time ACC Honor Roll member (1998-2001) and NFHCA Academic Squad honoree (1998-2001).

Perhaps Walter’s most notable hockey was played in the postseason. Walter’s class stands out as four-year ACC champions (1998-2001), and in addition to being on a NCAA championship team in 1999 and a national semifinalist squad from 1999-2001, Walter was selected to the ACC All-Tournament team four times, and the NCAA All-Tournament Team twice (2000-01). Walter will graduate with a degree in marketing in December.
