1987 NCAA Champions
Maryland wins its first NCAA Championship in 1987, defeating North Carolina, 2-1. The game marked head coach Sue Tyler's last at the Terrapin helm. Assistant coach Missy Meharg would take over the following year. Kim Chorosiewski ends her career with the most saves in school and ACC history (747). The Terrapins were the first field hockey champions invited to the White House, where they met President Reagan.
