Terps Defeat Wake Forest 3-0 in Field Hockey
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Senior forward Lynsey McVicker (Balleymoney, Northern Ireland) and senior midfielder Christine DeBow (West Chester, Pa.) each scored a goal and added an assist, leading the third-ranked University of Maryland field hockey team to a 3-0 win over Wake Forest today at the Astroturf Facility. The Terps raised their record to 10-0 (1-0 in the ACC) while the Demon Deacons fell to 6-5 (0-2 in the ACC).
McVicker and DeBow scored their goals within a five minute span in the first half. Senior forward Nadine Bennett (Chegutu, Zimbabwe) scored the loan goal of the second half.
Junior midfielder Jen Pratt (Greene, N.Y.) assisted on two of the goals, giving her 18 assists for the season. Her assist total breaks the school record of 17 assists in a season, which was set by Bennett last season.
The Terps next game is on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. when they host top ranked Old Dominion.
