Maryland Beats Towson State 4-0 in Field Hockey

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Freshman forward Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.) scored two goals, leading the University of Maryland field hockey team to a 4-0 victory over Towson State at the Astroturf Facility. The Terps improved their record to 4-0 on the season while the Tigers fell to 1-2.

Maryland scored three goals within a span of 4:50 in the first half. Tagliente scored both her goals and freshman back Marloes Platzek (Delft, The Netherlands) scored the other goal. Senior midfielder Christine DeBow (West Chester, Pa.) scored the loan goal of the second half.

The Terps next game is at Boston College on Friday at 7:30 p.m. against the Eagles.
