The Atlantic Coast Conference
The ACC is the premiere women's soccer conference in the country and the Terps are one of the reasons why.
Just look at some facts from the 2010 season:
• The ACC's eight teams in this year's NCAA
Championship led all conferences and tied a
league record. Six entered as national seeds (including two No. 1 seeds - Maryland and UNC), which also tied a league mark.
• The ACC has placed at least one team among the Final Four in 28 of the NCAA tournament's 29 years, including Boston College in 2010.
•Eleven ACC student-athletes were named to at least one All-America team, with five, including Maryland's Jasmyne Spencer, earning first-team honors.
• ACC teams finished 85-25-8 against non-conference opposition during the 2010 season, a winning percentage of .754.
