Volunteer Assistant Coach

Marianne Baker will begin her first season as a assistant coach for the Terps after serving as the team's volunteer assistant coach for the 2007-2008 season. Baker, a former Maryland student-athlete, played under head coach Martin Novak throughout her career at Maryland.

Baker racked up over 60 career singles victories as a Terrapin. Over her four years, she also picked up a total of 65 doubles victories with 27 in her junior season alongside Ramona But. The duo advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in doubles in 2006. Baker, a native of Glenelg, Md., was named to the All-ACC team in both 2006 and 2007.

Baker graduated from the University of Maryland in May of 2008 with degrees in communications and criminal justice.
