As a Senior in 2013: Contributed to the defensive play to help the Terps top Richmond 12-3 in season opener (2/10)... earned one ground ball and forced one turnover against Syracuse (2/17)... scooped two ground balls, earned a draw control and forced a turnover against Duke (2/24)... caused a turnover against Hofstra (3/3)... earned two ground balls against UMBC (3/5)... caused a turnover and earned two ground balls against Penn State (3/9)... earned two ground balls and caused two turnovers against Boston College (3/16)... earned two ground balls against James Madison (3/23)... tallied two draw controls and a ground ball against Towson (3/26)... caused one turnover against UNC (4/6).

As a Junior in 2012: Started in all 23 games for Maryland ... caused a turnover against Delaware (2/16) ...tallied three ground balls against No. 6 Virginia (3/2) ... had four ground balls against Hofstra (3/4)...notched three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers vs. Penn (3/30)...tallied two caused turnovers against Boston College (3/17)...tallied three ground balls vs. Virginia Tech in ACC quarterfinals (4/20)...also notched two ground balls and a draw control against Duke in the semifinals (4/21).

As a Sophomore in 2011: Saw action in the Terrapin wins against Delaware (2/16), George Mason (3/8), No. 20 Boston College (3/20), Stony Brook (3/22), No. 12 Princeton (4/13) and Virginia Tech (4/16)...scooped up a ground ball and two caused turnovers against Mason...tallied two ground balls and a caused turnover against the Hokies.

As a Freshman in 2010: Joined teammate Iliana Sanza as the top two defenders off the bench for Maryland...played in nine games for the top-ranked defense in the nation...registered six ground balls and two draw controls in her rookie campaign...had a career-high three ground balls at George Mason (3/9)...added two draw controls in a rout of Marist in the NCAA First Round (5/15)...tallied two ground balls against Virginia Tech (4/17).

Prep: Three-sport athlete at Perry Hall High School...first team all-county and all-division in lacrosse as a junior and MVP, Unsung Hero and sportsmanship award in lacrosse...three-year captain...captain and MVP while earning all-division first team honors in soccer...played club lacrosse for Sky Walkers.

Personal: Melissa Koren Diepold was born Jan. 13, 1991...daughter of James and Rosa Diepold ... has one brother, Corey...member of Class Senate and Sneaks Reading Club...has traveled to Spain...chose Maryland because it has an "awesome campus and atmosphere and there is an awesome group of girls and coaches on the lacrosse team"... history major.
