As a Junior (2013): A member of the team’s leadership council ... suffered an injury against FIU (8/31) that caused him to miss the next 10 games ... returned to action against NC State (11/30).

 As a Sophomore (2012): Started all 12 games at cornerback and led the team with 0.67 pass break ups per game; that mark also tied for 18th in the ACC … made five tackles for loss on the season, tops on the team for a defensive back … 32 of his 43 tackles on the season were unassisted … recorded seven tackles against William & Mary (9/1), including four solo tackles and one-and-a-half sacks … had two solo tackles against Temple (9/8) … recorded three solo tackles against Connecticut (9/15) … totaled four solo tackles against West Virginia (9/22) … had three total tackles against Wake Forest (10/6), including two solo tackles … had five total tackles, including two solo tackles against Virginia (10/13) … set season highs with seven total tackles and four solo tackles against NC State (10/20) … also recorded two pass break ups against the Wolfpack … totaled two solo tackles against Boston College (10/27) … recorded five tackles including four solo stops against Georgia Tech (11/3)… recorded two tackles against Clemson (11/10) … recorded two solo tackles including one tackle for loss against Florida State (1/17) … started and recorded one solo tackle against North Carolina (11/24).

 As a Redshirt Freshman (2011): Saw action in nine games as a reserve cornerback and special teams player … served as the No. 4 cornerback … had one tackle vs. West Virginia (9/17), Temple (9/24) and Towson (10/1) … also had one tackle vs. Notre Dame (11/12) and NC State (11/26) … did not play vs. Miami (9/5), BC (10/29) and Notre Dame (11/12). 

As a Freshman (2010): Redshirted.

At Suitland High School: A excellent two-way player .. ranked No. 78 nationally among cornerbacks by Scouts, Inc. … 2009 consensus all-state selection … a 2009 second team All-Met selection at defensive back … recorded 99 tackles and four interceptions as a senior … also caught 11 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns as a senior … displayed excellent leadership as a senior captain after Suitland lost its head coach - Nick Lynch - in a tragic car accident … coached by Ed Shields.

 Personal: Parents are Gary and Angeline Johnson … has one brother and one sister … enjoys writing and reading poetry in his free time ... completed a degree criminology and criminal justice ... working towards a degree in family science.
