Dennard Wilson is in his first season with the Terps as an intern.

The former standout Terp spent the last three seasons as a defensive backs coach and passing-game coordinator at DeMatha High School in Washington, D.C. The team posted a perfect 12-0 record in 2006 en route to the WCAC title.

Wilson was a four-year letterwinner (2000-03) and two-year starting defensive back for the Terps. He played under Ralph Friedgen in his final three seasons and was a part of the 2001 ACC Championship squad.

Wilson was an honorable mention All-ACC performer as a senior in 2003 and went on to earn a trip to the 2004 Hula Bowl. He was also named to the 2003 All-ACC Academic team.

Wilson played two seasons (2004-05) for the Washington Redskins before embarking on a coaching career.

A native of Upper Marlboro, Md., Wilson graduated from Maryland in 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications.
