Seventh-Ranked Women's Field Hockey Team blows out Bucknell 9-0

College Park, Md.-Sophomore midfielder Carla Tagliente (Cortland, N.Y.) scored three times and sophomore forward Keli Smith (Selinsgrove, Pa.) scored twice, leading seventh-ranked Maryland (9-5) to a 9-0 win over visiting Bucknell (7-5) tonight.

The Terps scored six times within a span of 6:08 to take a 6-0 halftime lead. They then added three goals in the second half to record their sixth consecutive shutout victory at home this season. Maryland also got one goal apiece from senior forward Kasey Heiser (Schafferstown, Pa), senior back Jen Pratt (Greene, N.Y.), sophomore back Sarah Rappolt (West Chester, Pa.) and freshman forward Dina Rizzo (Walpole, Mass.). Pratt added two assists, as did sophomore back Molly Kauffman (West Lawn, Pa.) and freshman midfielder Caroline Walter (Reilingen, Germany).

In goal, the Terps got a shared shutout from sophomore goalies Angela Platt (Coleraine, Northern Ireland) and Zoe Ehrlich (Morristown, N.J.). The Terps next game is on Saturday at home against ninth-ranked Duke (7-5) at noon.
