RALEIGH, N.C. - The Maryland women's soccer team continued its winning ways with a 2-0 win over NC State at Method Road on a sunny but brisk Sunday afternoon. The win improves the Terps' unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) and moves the Terps' overall record to 9-4-2 as they move edge close to securing their sixth NCAA Tournament bid. The win also moves Maryland to 3-3 in the ACC and keeps the Wolfpack winless at 0-6 in the league.

Jenny Boyd (Herndon, Va.) headed home a Lindsay Givens (Downingtown, Pa.) throw-in in the 20th minute to put the Terps on top 1-0. The goal was the first in the career for Boyd, who is having a standout senior season after missing the last two years due to injury. She has posted four assists along with her first goal for six points over the last three matches.

Boyd then started the Terps' second goal as her corner kick lead to the next goal. Junior Kim King (Media, Pa.) collected a rebound of a Valerie Lawrence (Silver Spring, Md.) shot off the corner kick and scored into the lower left corner with 50 seconds left in regulation.

"We played well enough to win," said head coach Shannon Higgins-Cirovski. "I was really happy with the play of Dana Jaryzniecki and Jenny Boyd, who has had a great senior season. It just goes to show you what senior leadership can do."

Another senior, Ali Wolff (Richmond, Va.) recorded two saves for her eighth shutout of the year and move her career total to 19.5.

Maryland sophomore sensation Jen Biscoe (Baltimore, Md.) went down an injury to her right knee in the 11th minute of the match and did not return for the remainder of the first half. She did re-enter the game to start the second half. It is the same knee Biscoe has undergone two surgeries on to repair torn ACLs.
