COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Freshman midfielder Caroline Walter (Reilingen, Germany) and sophomore midfielder Carla Tagliente (Cortalnd, N.Y.) each scored twice, leading seventh-ranked Maryland (13-5) to an 8-0 victory over Temple (4-15) tonight.

Senior forward Kasey Heiser (Schaefferstown, Pa.) and sophomore forward Keli Smith (Selinsgrove, Pa.) scored within a span a 6:29 in the first half, giving Maryland a 2-0 lead at halftime. Walter and Tagliente then keyed a six-goal outburst in the second half by scoring two goals apiece. Also scoring in the second half for Maryland were sophomore back Molly Kauffman (West Lawn, Pa.) and freshman midfielder Carol Senkler (Hockessin, Del.), who got a got for the first time in her collegiate career.

Sophomore goalies Angela Platt (Coleraine, Northern Ireland) and Zoe Ehrlich (Morristown, N.J.) recorded their fifth shared shutout of the season.

Maryland concludes their regular season with a critical home game against ninth-ranked James Madison (11-7) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
