April 30, 2012

BALTIMORE, Md. - Katie Schwarzmann was named Player of the Week Monday after leading the Terps to their fourth straight conference title a week ago.

Schwarzmann led the Terps in points, scoring four goals and adding two assists in the ACC title game. The junior added a ground ball and two draw controls against the top-seeded Tar Heels.

With four goals against the Tar Heels, Schwarzmann tied the ACC championship record for goals with 11 over the course of the tournament. Schwarzmann's performance led the Terps to their ninth ACC Tournament title in program history and was worthy of the prestigious ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player honor.

Schwarzmann contributed four points and four draw controls against Georgetown Wednesday in a 19-10 rout of the Hoyas.
